Living abroad opened her eyes to other peoples’ realities. As a High School student in Chile she was a member of Amnesty International and Habitat for Humanity. She also volunteered for humanitarian service projects with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a writer for her school’s newspaper Silvia discovered her love of writing. She now writes and edits for a culture magazine in Santiago, Chile.
Silvia dreams of making a difference through her writing, by telling the story of those who can’t tell it for themselves. Her ultimate goal is to become an investigative journalist and bring to the mainstream the realities of the unprivileged majority. She also hopes to be the best mother and wife she can be to the two loves of her life, her husband Daniel and her daughter Elisa.
